Nose Reshaping

Rhinoplasty (Surgery of the Nose)
Not only does the nose provide for the critical function of breathing, it also holds a central and defining position for facial appearance. The nose is often one of the first features noticed, and it has a tremendous impact on the way we look. Changes in nasal size and/or contour can greatly enhance appearance.
Rhinoplasty surgery seeks to improve nasal appearance and create balance between the features of the face. Revision rhinoplasty may be needed when prior nasal surgery has either disrupted the balance of nasal features or has disturbed the ability to breath properly through the nose.
Understanding Rhinoplasty Surgery
There are several approaches to reshaping the nose during rhinoplasty surgery. The majority of incisions are made inside the nose, where they are invisible. In certain cases, the incision will be made in the skin separating the nostrils. Following the first incision, the skin is lifted and nasal cartilage and bone are manipulated to create a well-defined, proportionate shape, then the skin is re-draped over the new frame and the incisions are closed.
